Six tables and one pasta machine
Lume opened in the spring of 2019 in a narrow brick building on the De Pere river walk, in what used to be a bait shop.
Elena and Marco are married, and between them they do everything. Elena runs the kitchen and makes the pasta. Marco runs the dining room, the wine list and, on busy Fridays, the dishwasher.
The six tables became twenty. The pasta machine got a second one. The back room became a private dining room, and the patio became the best seat in town from May to September. Come early on a Saturday and you can watch Elena cutting tomorrow's tagliatelle through the kitchen window.
